Shamrock Bank Agrees to Merge with First National Bank

Shamrock Bank, which was founded by Tom Monaghan, has agreed to merge with First National Bank of the Gulf Coast, the companies said in a statement Tuesday evening. The merger is subject to regulatory and shareholder approval and if it goes through, the Shamrock branch in Ave Maria will become a branch of First National. [Updated Wednesday morning]

Gyrenes Win 3rd Staight Football Game

 The Ave Maria University Football Team won their third straight game in dramatic fashion Saturday, scoring two touchdowns in the final minute of play to beat Florida Tech 45-41 in the first game played at AMU's new home football field on campus.

Home Sales Picking Up in Ave Maria

Ave Maria Development has announced that strong sales by all four homebuilders pushed the total number of new home contracts in Ave Maria to 133 through the end of the third quarter. CC Devco, Del Webb, Lennar and Pulte sell homes in four neighborhoods -- Maple Ridge, Del Webb, Emerson Park and Hampton Village.
