Ave Maria Swimmer Honored by NCAA Northeast Conference

Haley Fournier, a sophomore at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, was named the NCAA Division One Northeast Conference swimmer of the week after setting a school record in the 200-meter breaststroke.

Ave Maria Law School President Stepping Down

Ave Maria Law School President Eugene Milhizer has announced that he'll be stepping down as president and dean of the school effective next July 1. Mr. Milhizer, who lives in Ave Maria, will stay on as a member of the law school faculty, the school said in a statement.

 Film industry veteran and Ave Maria resident Tony Schweikle has been shooting a movie in Ave Maria for several weeks, and he hopes it will be the beginning of a trend toward more film production in southwest Florida.
