irish1Irish music, fun and games will be featured Saturday, March 6, at the "Touch of the Irish" event in the Ave Maria town center. Things get under way at 11 a.m. There is music from the West Galway Irish band along with traditional food and drink, games and activities for all ages. Workshop on Researching Irish Ancestry Offered at AMU Print E-mail

Two experts in Irish family history will be giving a one-day workshop and seminar on researching Scots-Irish ancestry Tuesday at Ave Maria University. The two, Fintan Mullan and Brian Trainor, are from the Ulster Historical Foundation, one of the leading organizations providing genealogical research and resources.

The ceremony is at 10 a.m. on the grounds of the Corkscrew Middle School. A press release on the groundbreaking in the Naples Daily News also has more details about the project, such as where streetlights, sidewalks and bike/cart trails will be located.

A proposal to establish a Design Review Board for Ave Maria will soon go to the county for approval following Tuesday's meeting of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District. The meeting also got an update on Oil Well Road construction.
