The Oprah Winfrey Show that featured the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist -- some of whom teach in Ave Maria -- will be shown again next week. In Ave Maria, the program will be broadcast Monday, Aug. 16, at 4 p.m. on Channel 5 and Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 9 a.m. on Channel 6.

Ave Maria University received the highest possible score for the fiscal year that ended in June, 2009, in the U.S. Department of Education's assessment of the financial stability of higher educational institutions while the Ave Maria School of Law has among the lowest scores.

Florida State legislators are analyzing the stimulus bill passed Tuesday by the U.S. Congress to determine its effect on numerous state budget items, including the $50 million earmarked for the Jackson Lab genetics research facility near Ave Maria.

The Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board of supervisors approved the budget for the next fiscal year at a meeting Tuesday which moved along quickly and smoothly under new rules and procedures.
