Remembrances, condolences and prayers poured out Monday as town residents and former classmates of Luke Scheck heard the news that the popular young Ave Maria man had died that morning at age 22.
His death is being investigated by Collier County Sheriff's Office detectives. Police were called Monday morning about reports that a young man was behaving erratically. He eventually ran from police and went into one of the town lakes where he became unresponsive, police said.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the Ave Maria Catholic Church preceded by a viewing at 9 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at Palm Royale Cemetery.
