J on Scharfenberger is in intensive care in a hospital in Macon, GA, after an accident Saturday night that claimed the lives of a Students for Life staffer, Kortney Blythe Gordon, her unborn child and an occupant of another vehicle. Mr. Scharfenberger (right in a picture taken in January, 2011) passionately led pro-life activities at Ave Maria University before graduating in May, 2011. The hospital did not disclose his condition, or the nature of his injuries. Click for more from Lifenews.com
Donahue Football: Shamrocks Beat Nicea 45-32

 Donahue Academy improved to 6-1 on the season with a 45-32 win over a tough, physical team from Nicea Academy in a sixman football game at North Park in Ave Maria Saturday night. The game featured a tribute at halftime to the eight seniors who have been on the team since its inception in 2009. Above, senior Mike Klein being introduced with his parents, Mary Jo and Daryl Klein.

 Maria Cunningham had a thrill Sunday morning when she caught this huge bass fishing in the pond at Hampton Village with her brother Thomas and neighbor Josie Timmis. Bishop Grants "Catholic" Recognition to Ave Maria University at Inauguration of New President

 Bishop Frank Dewane announced Friday that he has officially granted Ave Maria University the status of a "Catholic" University, just before the formal inauguration of Jim Towey as the university's second president. Above, AMU founder Tom Monaghan ceremonially puts the president's robe on Mr. Towey.
