Women and Education is the theme of this year's Genuine Feminine Conference, which will be held at Ave Maria University Saturday, Jan. 19, and will include as speakers Sr. Jane Dominic Laurel, Meghan Cox Gurdon, Dr. Catherine Pakaluk, Dr. Rosemary McCullough, and Ambassador Michael Novak. Women residents of the town are being especially welcomed to attend.

Tom Cardamone, illustrator of the first children's book set in Ave Maria, Monty, Cat of Ave Maria, died on January 2nd after a long illness. He was 86.

 The Choraliers, made up of Ave Maria residents, entertained at three Naples nursing homes in December and report that the residents enjoyed the programs as much as the Choraliers did in presenting them, with enthusiastic audience participation.

 Ave Maria University President Jim Towey has named Kevin Joyce (above) as the school's new Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the university announced in a statement Monday. For the last year, Mr. Joyce has been the school's athletics director and head football coach.
