Chicago Fire Heads Home; Hopes to Return Next Year

 The Major League Soccer Chicago Fire is heading north after spending about two weeks training in Ave Maria. Players and coaches said they loved their time in Ave Maria and hoped training in town would be part of their annual routine.  About 100 students, faculty and town residents enjoyed watching the classic Frank Capra film It Happened One Night outside The Bean of Ave Maria on a balmy night Thursday. Scholar and critic Dr. Morris Dickstein will speak Thursday night, Feb. 24, on the subject of Frank Capra - from Comedy to Community after a special screening of the 1934 comedy It Happened One Night outside The Bean of Ave Maria. Dr. Dickstein, whose most recent book is Dancing in the Dark - a Cultural History of the Great Depression, discusses film in the Depression on the AMU film society blog here. The film will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome.
