Congressman Rivera Publicly Available in Ave Maria Tuesday Afternoon

U.S. Rep. David Rivera, whose congressional district includes Ave Maria, will be in town Tuesday afternoon to meet any residents who wish to speak with him. His office said he plans to be at The Bean from about 1:45 p.m. til 2:30 p.m. Rep. Rivera, a Republican, was elected to his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives last November. Kids Flock to Ave Maria Easter Egg Hunt

 The university mall across from the Ave Maria oratory bustled with a brief burst of intense activity Easter morning as scores of children scooped up plastic eggs in the fourth annual town Easter egg hunt.

 U.S. Rep. David Rivera visited the DaVita Dialysis center in Ave Maria Wednesday, meeting with staff an patients about health-care needs in eastern Collier County. Rep. Rivera plans to return to Ave Maria next week to meet with town residents as well as students and staff at Ave Maria University. Above, Rep. AMU Track Coach Hired by Belmont Abbey

Mike Dewitt, who started Ave Maria University's track and field program a year ago, has accepted a position as the head track and cross-country coach at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina.

Sculptor Has Success on the Water, Too

 Sculptor Márton Váró put down his chisel and picked up a rod and reel to go deep sea fishing this week with Ave Maria residents Patrick Hanley, Nick Healy, Jim Hess and Jerry Williams. Mr. Váró reeled in the largest fish of the trip, a King fish (above). The group also brought back Red Grouper, Spanish Mackeral and Snapper. (photo by Jim Hess)
