Arthrex Seeks Economic Incentives

Arthrex has begun discussions with Collier County officials on economic incentives it is seeking to build a 160,000-square-foot facility off Oil Well Rd. in Ave Maria. Barron Collier, which plans to donate 21 acres to Arthrex for the development, also intends to seek approval to move some of the commercial zoning from an area near Camp Keais Rd. to Oil Well Rd. to support the project, as it had planned to do for the proposed Jackson Lab development. Jim Towey's New Management Team Takes Shape

Ave Maria University President Jim Towey is bringing in two former colleagues from St. Vincent College for key roles in his new administration -- one as VP of Enrollment and Marketing and the other to a new position of Chief Information Officer. Mr. Towey also announced he will be searching for a new head of Development as Carole Carpenter will be assuming new responsibilities working directly for Tom Monaghan.

Márton Váró Bids Farewell to Ave Maria

 Sculptor Márton Váró, who has spent almost two years working in Ave Maria, is back at his home in California, hoping to return to Ave Maria at some point to complete two more marble carvings to adorn the front of the oratory. "This project probably has been the happiest time of my career," he said. Above, Mr. Váró working on the face of Mary.
