FOCUS Swells Sunday Morning Crowds in Ave Maria

 The 10 a.m. Mass in the Ave Maria Oratory -- the only Sunday Mass in English -- overflowed, with about 150 people forced to stand in the aisles. With no extra Masses scheduled to accommodate about 500 missionaries from the Fellowship of Catholic University Students in Ave Maria for training, it was more crowded than usual.

Best Wishes to Sr. Milina

 Friends and well-wishers stopped by the Klucik home in Ave Maria Friday night to see Sr. Milina, who is in Ave Maria for a week before starting the Novitiate phase of her religious formation. Gas Station Update: Opening 1-2 Weeks Away

The Mobil gas station and convenience store on Ave Maria Blvd. received its Certificate of Occupancy (CO) Tuesday and hopes to be open within the next 10 days. "After CO it typically takes a couple of weeks to get a store open, but we are going to do everything we can to have the store open by the middle of next week," said Phil Toye of station owner Automated Petroleum and Energy.
Gyrene Burger Closes Both Naples Locations

 Gyrene Burger, the hamburger delivery business started about 18 months ago by Ave Maria University and Domino's Pizza founder Tom Monaghan, has closed both its locations in Naples. A company announcement says some new franchise locations will be opened this summer, but did not say where although one is reported to be in Tennessee. Ave Maria Youth Swim Team Begins Saturday, June 1

 The Ave Maria summer youth swim team begins Saturday with a practice and sign-up session at 10 a.m. at the water park. The team practices three times a week and holds meets against other teams during its eight-week program.
