The new school year got under way this week at the Donahue Academy in Ave Maria. There are a number of new faces – not just among the 254 students but also among the faculty.

It's Bear Season Again in Ave Maria

 A large black bear meandered through Ave Maria's Hampton Village neighborhood for about three hours Tuesday afternoon, before being chased away by Collier County Sheriff's deputies. Bears were around town at this time last year as well, and one was shot and killed last September by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer.
