Law School Honors Former Solicitor General

 Former U.S. Solicitor General Ted Olson became the first recipient of the Ave Maria School of Law's medal of honor for national excellence Tuesday. Mr. Olson (left), shown receiving the medal from law school board of governors member John Coyne, then gave a talk to more than 400 people in the ballroom of the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort in Naples.

Naples Residents Impressed with AMU Students

A group of Ave Maria students made quite an impression on two Naples residents, who wrote In a letter to the Naples Daily News of the joy they felt seeing the students say grace publicly before eating at the beach. "God bless them, for they are our hope for the future," wrote Bea and George Chionis in a letter published Tuesday.

Pulte Merges with Centex

Pulte, the principal residential developer in Ave Maria, is merging with another large homebuilder, Centex, in a $1.3-billion stock deal. The transaction will create the nation's largest homebuilding company, which will have the Pulte name. Centex has several developments in the Naples area including the Quarry off Immokalee Rd.
