The doors of the new Publix supermarket in Ave Maria will open at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 18, a company representative confirmed Thursday.

Teresa Lester, RIP

Teresa Lester, one of Ave Maria's first residents, died Monday night surrounded by friends and family. She had been ill with cancer for some time. Her funeral Mass will be at the oratory Saturday, May 23, at 1 p.m.

AMU Signs First Baseball Recruit

The AMU baseball team signed its first player Thursday, pitcher/infielder Blake Urquhart, a graduate of South Fort Myers High School. Urquhart (above left with team coach Shawn Summe) hurled two no-hitters in his senior year.
