One of Florida's most successful homebuilders, CC Devco, is slated to begin building a new subdivision within Ave Maria called Maple Ridge. The first phase sitemap shows about 150 homes located just south of the town center in what originally was part of the Hampton Village neighborhood.

Women and Education is the theme of this year's Genuine Feminine Conference, which will be held at Ave Maria University Saturday, Jan. 19, and will include as speakers Sr. Jane Dominic Laurel, Meghan Cox Gurdon, Dr. Catherine Pakaluk, Dr. Rosemary McCullough, and Ambassador Michael Novak. Tom Cardamone, illustrator of the first children's book set in Ave Maria, Monty, Cat of Ave Maria, died on January 2nd after a long illness. He was 86.

 The Choraliers, made up of Ave Maria residents, entertained at three Naples nursing homes in December and report that the residents enjoyed the programs as much as the Choraliers did in presenting them, with enthusiastic audience participation.

 Ave Maria University President Jim Towey has named Kevin Joyce (above) as the school's new Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the university announced in a statement Monday. For the last year, Mr. Joyce has been the school's athletics director and head football coach.

The next Marian Eucharistic Conference Living the Call," is scheduled for Feb. 23r with speakers including talk show host Teresa Tomeo, and former US Ambassador Michael Novak.
The founder of Ave Maria University and Domino's Pizza has filed suit against the mandate that employer-provided insurance plans cover free contraceptives and other services that are contrary to Catholic teaching. The suit centers on employees of the Domino's Farms office park in Michigan (left) and is separate from the suit filed by Ave Maria University.
