The Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board has set April 25 as the date for first town election to choose a member of the five-member board by popular vote. Ave Maria University has sold the iconic Ave Maria Oratory to the Diocese of Venice, the diocese announced Thursday. The building now becomes the Ave Maria Parish Church and the move makes Ave Maria a regular parish, and no longer a "quasi-parish." This year, the cook-off follows an array of fun activities at the Great American Saturday event sponsored by Ave Maria Development.

The HITS triathlon will finish in Ave Maria again this year, with cyclists coming through from the late morning to well into the afternoon Saturday, Jan. 7. The cyclists start in Naples, and traffic disruptions in Ave Maria are expected to be minor, as they were last year.
