Acupuncturist to Offer Services in Ave Maria

Dr. Liwen (Lily) Heh, a practitioner of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, will begin treating patients every Saturday afternoon at Salon d'Maria in the Ave Maria town center beginning Jan. 14. Fr. Robert McTeigue, a patient of Dr. Lily's, is sponsoring a reception to introduce Dr. Lily at Salon d'Maria Thursday, Jan. 12, from 5-7 p.m.

KofC Youth Free Throw Competition Jan. 7

 The Ave Maria Knights of Columbus invite everyone age 10-14 to compete Saturday, Jan. 7, in the first leg of the KofC's free-throw competition. The top 10 qualifiers -- five boys and five girls -- will advance to the district competition later this month. Competition is at 3:30 p.m. at Donahue Academy. There is no charge, but competitors need to bring proof that they are age 10-14 as of Jan. 1, 2012.
Ave Maria Hometown Orchestra Prepares for New Season; Begins Instructional Program

 The orchestra will hold auditions Jan. 10 for experienced musicians and also is starting a program to teach violin to beginners. The "Classicial Virtuosi of Ave Maria" instructional program will be taught by performing artist and teacher Kevin Seto.

First Independent Real Estate Office Opens in Ave Maria Town Center

 Ave Maria residents Bob and Erin Campbell have opened a branch of the John R. Wood Real Estate company in the town center -- the first real real estate office in Ave Maria hat is not affiliated with either the town developers or homebuilders.

Ave Maria Choraliers Spread Holiday Cheer

The Ave Maria Choraliers performed a Christmas music program at four nursing homes and assisted-living centers in the Naples area. The singers were joined this year by two "Choralettes" from the Donahue Academy for their renditions of Christmas carols and holiday songs.
