First Independent Real Estate Office Opens in Ave Maria Town Center

Bob and Erin Campbell were brought together because of Ave Maria, now they are bringing others to the town through their work as independent realtors.

This week, the couple opened the first real estate office in Ave Maria that is not affiliated with either the town developers or homebuilders. The office, located by the visitor's center that displays memorabilia of from the town and the life of Tom Monaghan, is a branch of the John R. Wood real estate company, with which the Campbells have worked for several years.

"bob1We are the realtors in town that truly represent individuals buying or selling a home," Mr. Campbell (right, at the door of the new office) said recently.

As a result, the two have accounted for a large percentage of all the real estate transactions in Ave Maria for the last few years.

"We're busy steadily," said Mrs. Campbell, "even in the summer when most realtors in Naples have nothing to do."

The Campbells are both veterans of the U.S. Marine Corps and met for the first time in 2006 when they attended the Gyrene Gala dinner that raises money for scholarships to Ave Maria University for veterans of the armed forces. Erin (pictured below) had attended Ave Maria College in Michigan, enlisted in the Marines after graduation, and began working at the AMU campus in the Vineyards after she completed four years as a military police officer.  Bob, a Gulf War veteran, was visiting Naples when he attended the Gyrene Gala in the spring of 2006.

"erin1We were married in September," Erin said.

They moved to Bob's home state of New Jersey but decided to relocate to the Naples area before the birth of their first child, moving to Ave Maria in 2008.

They've been active realtors in town for several years, but, as Bob explained, "When Pulte relocated its sales activities from the Ave Maria town center to their new sales center at Del Webb, we saw the opportunity opened up for a real estate office in town." The only other realtor in the town center, Ave Maria Realty, focuses strictly on selling La Piazza condominiums.

Mr. Campbell also has a financial background as a loan officer and banker, which he says helps him provide a higher level of service to customers than many realtors.

The Cambells and their three young children - Marie, 3, Rory, 2 and Emma, four months -- live in Hampton Village.

The office can be reached by phone at 239-449-2819 or at www.realestateavemaria.com.
