 The Major League Soccer Chicago Fire began two weeks of training in Ave Maria Friday evening, taking the field at the town's North Park. "It's great to be back in Ave Maria," said head coach Frank Klopas.

UPDATE: AMU Students Scramble for Buses to Washington after Last-Minute Cancelation

The AMU Students for Life organization had to scramblie to find transportation for 155 students to go to Washington, DC, for the March for Life Monday after a charter bus company in Virginia canceled the trip at the last minute, despite having been paid more than $18,000 in advance. The students made alternative arrangements late Thursday.

 Three buses pulled out of Ave Maria Friday evening, carrying 155 AMU students to the March for Life in Washington, D.C. - something that just 18 hours previously was in doubt when the first bus company the students hired reneged after cashing their check for $18,500. "God wanted you to be on these buses," said Father Robert Garrity (above) with a touch of humor as he blessed the students, "not those other buses."

Strong Showing by Ave Maria Contingent in Half Marathon

 More than a dozen runners from Ave Maria University competed in the Naples Daily News Half Marathon Sunday. The best time of the group was turned in by Ave Maria University's head of academic affairs, Michael Dauphinais, who finished 24th in the men's age 35-39 group with a time of 1:39:17.
