Kevin Joyce Named New Head Institutional Advancement at AMU

Ave Maria University President Jim Towey has named Kevin Joyce (above) as the school's new Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the university announced in a statement Monday. For the last year, Mr. Joyce has been the school's athletics director and head football coach.

The founder of Ave Maria University and Domino's Pizza has filed suit against the mandate that employer-provided insurance plans cover free contraceptives and other services that are contrary to Catholic teaching. The suit centers on employees of the Domino's Farms office park in Michigan (left) and is separate from the suit filed by Ave Maria University.
AMU President Jim Towey told faculty, staff and university supporters in an end-of-year message that the school has had "unprecedented" growth in 2012 and remains on course to achieve its goal of financial independence from founder Tom Monaghan in 18 months.

The Naples-based maker of orthopedic products received an award from Gov. Rick Scott earlier this week at a ceremony recognizing companies that have contributed to growing the Florida economy. Arthrex is preparing to open an new manufacturing facility in Ave Maria next year.
