Collier County commissioners will hear a proposal Tuesday to establish an Ave Maria Innovation Zone to provide help for high-wage businesses with strong growth prospects that either are, or would be located in town.

The departure of Ave Maria University economics professor Joseph Burke was confirmed Wednesday. Dr. Burke is the third department chair to leave AMU recently, bringing to six the number of faculty and staff to go - either voluntarily or involuntarily - in the last 30 days.
