American Bar Association Finds Ave Maria's Admissions Practices Lacking

[UPDATED] The ABA has notified the law school of its "failure to comply with ABA accreditation standards" regarding its admissions policies and practices. The school remains accredited but needs to take "specific remedial actions."

The process leading to directly electing at least one seat on the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District will take at least an extra month due to a need to revise a map showing the amount of "urban area," the district supervisors were told at their monthly meeting Tuesday. The board also voted to approve the budget for the coming fiscal year.

Ave Maria Seeing Significant Growth in Home Sales, Services, Businesses

 Home sales in Ave Maria are continuing at a record pace, with more than 200 homes sold in the first seven months of the year. Work has started on a new section of arterial road Anthem Parkway, the Maple Ridge Amenities Center has been announced, new businesses are slated to open and several current ones are expanding. AMSCD to Consider Budget, Determination of Number of Directly-Elected Seats

The budget for the next fiscal year, which keeps assessments on residents flat, will be discussed and voted on at the meeting of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board Tuesday, Aug. 2. Also at the meeting, the district's engineer will present maps showing the percentage of "urban area" in the district, a calculation that will be used to determine the number of board seats that will be directly elected.
