Take Three: AMSCD Electoral Maps Will Have Further Revision

The map that will determine the number of seats on the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board will be presented for a third time at the board's next meeting in October following a discussion at the district meeting Friday. Developers also specified that the total amount of land that can ever be developed in the district means that the maximum number of directly elected seats on the five-member board is three.

Plans Disclosed for Rental Apartment Complex in Ave Maria

A rental apartment complex in Ave Maria is in the works, Barron Collier Vice President David Genson told the meeting of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District Friday. The 250-unit development would be the first strictly rental housing in town.

 The Immokalee Fire Control District and Ave Maria Development have agreed on terms for developers to turn over land for the station but the plans require action by the Collier County Commission, which will not take up the matter until after the November elections.
