Another housing option in Ave Maria – rental apartments – is on the drawing board, Barron Collier Vice President David Genson told the meeting of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District Friday.
Mr. Genson disclosed the plans for the 250-unit development during a presentation on road and infrastructure improvements that will be financed by a new $10-million debt instrument later this year.
The rental complex will be on 15 acres just west of Ave Maria Blvd near the town entrance on Oil Well Rd. It will be the first strictly rental housing available in town. It will also be the first structure other than those for Arthrex built in what is envisioned to be a mixed-use area that will include residences and retail as well as other commercial operations.
Developers hope to begin construction in 2017, Mr. Genson said.
