"The Birds" -- What to Watch For

Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, struck some as a somewhat unusual choice to kick off Ave Maria's Film Series. AMU professor Blanford Parker, who will discuss the film following its showing at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, previews the themes he'll talk about.

 Putting a tumultuous few years in Michigan behind it, the Ave Maria School of Law is rebuilding in southwest Florida. Acting Dean Eugene Milhizer says the school's incoming first-year class is larger, with better credentials than previous years. Four classic works of Alfred Hitchcock will be shown and discussed during the next few months. The program, which features a screening followed by a lecture and discussion at the Queen Mary Pub led by an AMU faculty member, begins Thursday, Oct. 22, with The Birds.
