A local paintball team came just one win away from a division championship at the weekend Paintball World Cup Tournament near Orlando. A total of 300 teams from across the U.S. competed.
"It was an amazing opportunity -- the best paintball experience I've ever had," said Ave Maria resident Tim Delaney following the team's 2nd-place finish in their 17-team division.
The team, which calls itself "Uncivilized" (right with their 2nd-place award) was formed with three players who were part of an Ave Maria team last year plus other paintballers from Naples.
"We would have been happy to be among the best 10 before Sunday," said Winfried Krepf, one of the team's coaches. He said that the team was somewhat disappointed not to have won their division, but thrilled at their 2nd-place finish.
"We'll come back next year and win," said his son, Max.
