"It's very satisfying to wake up and know that today I'm going to carve the Annunciation," Mr. Váró told a Lifelong Education session Saturday morning. He explained his craft and his calling -- and the surprising inspiration that made him want to become a sculptor.

Ever wondered what that conceptual sketch of the oratory Tom Monaghan drew on a tablecloth looks like? You can see it in the Ave Maria Gallery and History Musuem now open in the town center.
