Former Solicitor General Ted Olson Advocating for Same-Sex Marriage

 Mr. Olson, shown above receiving the Ave Maria School of Law's first National Medal of Excellence from law school trustee John Coyne in April, has surprised conservatives by leading a legal challenge to California's ban on same-sex marriage.  Zachary Kelly, 19, soloed out of Immokalee airport earlier this month. He'll be studying Aviation Sciences at Texas State Technical College this fall.

Karen Laub-Novak, R.I.P.

The artist, a long-time friend to Ave Maria University, died in Washington, D.C., after a battle with cancer. She was married to the writer and scholar Michael Novak, who is a member of the AMU Board of Trustees. Ms. Laub-Novak spoke at AMU in February at an exhibition of her work.
