AMU Students Shine at Naples Founders Club

 Dazzling singing from five AMU students highlighted the meeting of the Naples chapter of the Ave Maria Founders Club Tuesday night. Students sang selections that will be part of a musical theater evening March 27 at the Festival of the Arts in Ave Maria. Above, sisters Jamille (L) and Alia Seaberg sing the duet Sull'aria from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro. Other singers included Nathaniel Page, April Rutherford and Vanessa Tompkins.

 The Dominican Sisters of Mary, some of whom teach at the Donahue Academy in Ave Maria, were featured Tuesday on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Reporter Lisa Ling, who spent a night in their convent in Ann Arbor, MI, called the sisters "some of the kindest people I've ever encountered." Dominican Sisters of Mary Featured on Oprah Winfrey Tuesday, Feb. 9

The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Euccharist, some of whom teach at the Donahue Academy, will be profiled on The Oprah Winfrey Show, which airs locally at 4 p.m. Tuesday on WINK-TV, channel 5. Some taping was done at the Motherhouse in Ann Arbor, MI, and several of the nuns went to Chicago to be interviewed in the studio. Parish Pro-Life Group Prepares for 40 Days for Life

The Respect Life Committee of the Ave Maria quasi parish will be available after masses Feb. 7 and Feb. 14 to sign up volunteers to participate in vigils outside Planned Parenthood in Naples as part of a nation-wide 40 Days for Life campaign.
