Scholarship Announced for Ave Maria High School Students

Scholarship Available for Graduating High School Girls

Ave Maria's Our Lady's Leaders is offering a scholarship (the amount of which is still to be determined) for the daughters of registered parishioners of the Quasi-Parish of Ave Maria Oratory who will be graduating from high school in 2010. Students who will have graduated from high school (or the equivalent in home school studies) this spring, and who plan to pursue college, university, or technical school studies in the 2010-2011 academic year may apply for the scholarship.

Applications will be available for pickup beginning January 31st at the following locations (or downloaded here):

Applications will be accepted beginning January 31st, and must be must be completed, signed, and postmarked dated no later than April 24th to be accepted. Finalists will be contacted for a short interview to be held on May 1st and the winner will be announced on May 9th, 2010. Candidates will be evaluated based on their faith, leadership, and educational goals achieved during their academic life, and the committee will award the scholarship to the candidate whose credentials best reflect these qualities.

An informational meeting for girls and their parents will be held at the Golf and Electric Vehicles store on 5068 Annunciation Circle on Monday, Feb 8th from 7-8pm. Questions about the expected amount of the scholarship and any other points will be addressed at this meeting.  All applicants are strongly urged to attend.

Our Lady's Leaders is an organization open to all ladies of the Quasi-Parish of Ave Maria Oratory, but is primarily associated with the wives of the Knights of Columbus. Our mission is to encourage support of the Knights Oratory Council 14697, perform charitable works, and promote the betterment of society through faithful adherence to and imitation of Mary, the Mother of God, especially in her Maternity and Militancy.
