Shakespeare, Duly Noted

The Ave Maria University music department is putting on an innovative evening that combines Shakespeare and opera in a way few have probably heard either performed. Shakespeare in Tune will be presented March 27 as part of a dinner-theater fundraiser for the university. Above, at a recent meeting of the Naples Ave Maria Founders Club, sisters Jamille (L) and Alia Seaberg performed the duet Sull'aria from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro which will be part of Shakespeare in Tune.

A new community theater group in Ave Maria is holding auditions Monday evening, March 15, for a musical review of Broadway show tunes that will be performed in April. Residents, students and faculty of all ages are invited to try out.

Irish Festival in Town Center Saturday

Irish music, fun and games will be featured Saturday, March 6, at the "Touch of the Irish" event in the Ave Maria town center. Things get under way at 11 a.m. There is music from the West Galway Irish band along with traditional food and drink, games and activities for all ages.
