Father Tatman Apppointed Pastor

The Diocese of Venice has announced that Fr. Robert Tatman (left)  has been appointed pastor of the Quasi-Parish of Ave Maria Oratory. He has been the parish administrator since the quasi-parish was formed in March, 2008.

Two Naples Residents Join Ave Maria Law School Board

The Ave Maria School of Law has announced the election of retired businessman James William Fennessey and real estate executive Michel Saadeh to its Board of Governors. The school said that its founding dean, Bernard Dobranski, is leaving the board due to term limits and that Leonard Leo of the Federalist Society is also stepping down as a member of the board.

AMSCD May Meeting Canceled

The Ave Maria Stewardship Community District meeting scheduled for May 4 has been canceled, which normally happens when the board does not have matters before it requiring a meeting. The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 1 at 9 a.m. in the Master Association offices.

The Wanderer Retracts "False Statements" About Ave Maria

Wanderer Editor Alphonse Matt has published a "retraction and correction" and apologized for "false statements" about the possibility that abortion could be available in the town of Ave Maria, and for assertions that Ave Maria University "aggressively recruits" non-Catholics. The retracted assertions were found in articles written by town resident Marielena Montesino de Stuart.
