Sixman Football: Donahue 55 Island Christian 27

The Donahue Academy Shamrocks had another big offensive showing Saturday, beating Island Christian 55-27 in a game at Islamorada. Donahue led 28-21 at the half, but coach Rich Scanlon said the team "made some defensive adjustments" and had a big second half. The win improves Donahue's record to 5-1. The final league game of the season is next weekend at Miami Christian School.
Ave Maria Film Society Announces 2010-11 Film Series

A diverse selection of films will be screened for the Ave Maria community throughout the school year, with a talk and discussion afterward led by different scholars in the casual atmosphere of the Queen Mary Pub.

AMU Music Department Chair Takes On Additional Role

Tim McDonnell, the chair of the music department at Ave Maria University, has been hired as interim director of choruses at the Southwest Florida Symphony in Ft. Myers, a job he'll do in addition to his responsibilities at AMU. Click here for story from Naples Daily News
Joseph Pearce Speaks to Another Capacity Crowd

Author and AMU Literature Professor Joseph Pearce spoke to an overflow crowd Tuesday night at the Ave Maria Founders Club meeting at The Bean. Prof. Pearce spoke of his conversion experience -- from British skinhead to well-regarded author and university professor. A large group heard his speak on that topic recently at the Ft. Myers Founders Club, and Prof. Pearce has drawn many people to other talks he has given recently on the theology of the Lord of the Rings. (photoby Marilyn Cole)
