Ave Maria Swimmer Wins Medal at High School State Championships

haley2Haley Fournier, a junior at Palmetto Ridge High School, finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Florida High School Athletic Association Division 2A state champsionships held recently in Orlando. More than 4,300 swimmers from 144 schools competed at the meet.

Johnny Bench Scholarship Fund Established at AMU

bench2aFormer major league catcher Johnny Bench has established a scholarship fund to help students attend Ave Maria University, AMU announced Thursday. The hall-of-famer (left) has headlined the university's annual golf fundraiser for the last few years and will do so again at this year's event Dec. 2-3.
