 The sound of the blues filled the Ave Maria town center Saturday afternoon as for the Blues, Brews and BBQ event which drew people from throughout southwest Florida. Above, a couple from Naples, and their toy poodle, danced to Little Eddie and the Fat Fingers.

 Cardinal Donald Wuerl, just three days before leaving for the papal conclave in Rome, praised Ave Maria University for its committment to quality education and its mission to instill values in young people. The cardinal spoke at an AMU fundraising dinner in Naples, at which an honorary doctorate degree was conferred on AMU supporter Rhodora Donahue. Chant Explored at Ave Maria Conference

 About 60 people from across Florida and seven other states explored making the ancient art of Gregorian Chant part of 21st-century liturgies, among other topics at the Musica Sacra Florida Gregorian Chant Conference at Ave Maria Univeristy. An Unusual All-Night Party

One of the most unusual all-night parties in Southwest Florida was the 24-hour "Homerathon" reading of the entire Iliad at Ave Maria University, writes Ave Herald Editor Patricia Sette in her column in the Naples Daily News Collier Citizen.
