Work Progresses on Gas Station - Opening Now May 1

Pumps are in and work continues at the gas station/convenience store on Ave Maria Blvd. Opening now is expected May 1, about a month behind schedule, said Phil Toye of Automated Petroleum and Energy, which will operate the station. Above, top, pumps being delivered and below, as they are installed.
Maple Ridge: A Turning Point for Ave Maria?

The planned Maple Ridge development in Ave Maria represents the largest outside investment in the town since original construction started about eight years ago. The investment by homebuilder CC Devco in more than 600 acres also will provide some financial benefit to Tom Monaghan and Ave Maria University, part owners of the land.

 The Catholic News Agency has published a column by Fr. Matthew Lamb, chair of the Ave Maria University theology department, dispelling allegations that Pope Francis did not speak out against the kidnapping of two Jesuits during the country's civil conflict in the 1970s.
