The county planning staff is supporting most of the proposed changes but specifically asks the Planning Commission not to approve changes in the number of sidewalks and trails in Ave Maria.

Ave Maria developers are proposing changes to town plans that if approved will expand development near Oil Well Rd., eliminate requirements to provide affordable housing, and require sidewalks only on one side of the street in residential neighborhoods.

 Her work with Ave Maria University to build a performing arts center and permanent home for a Mother Teresa exhibition has lured Myra Daniels to Ave Maria and she is having a home built in the Maple Ridge neighborhood. "There is a peace in Ave Maria that I have never experienced," she said.

  Developer CC Devco will begin building smaller single-family detached homes this fall in Coquina, a development that will be on land originally planned for the Middlebrooke townhome development. Ave Maria Development says first-half sales were brisk throughout the town, with 130 new contracts. (above, two of the Coquina home styles)
