AMSCD Hears Updates on Golf Carts, Bond Offering, Other Matters

New golf cart regulations are still in the works but are moving forward with county officials, the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board was told at its monthly meeting Tuesday morning. The board also heard updates on the bond offereng for part of the infrastructure of the Maple Ridge neighborhood, recent theft of entry letters and plans for five new "high-tech" crosswalks in the town center.

No Damage in Fire at Maple Ridge Construction Site

 Black smoke towered over Ave Maria Tuesday when a small fire flared up at a construction site for Phase 3 of Maple Ridge in Ave Maria. Resident Kyle Kopec said it appeared that a controlled burn apparently got out of control. Fire crews based in Ave Maria and Immokalee put down the fire in a few hours, and there were no injuries or damage. (photo by Kyle Kopec)
