Gospel Forum Helps Men Share, Grow in Faith

A growing number of men get together Wednesday mornings in Ave Maria to share thoughts on the week's gospel and, as founder Michael Timmis puts it, "spur one another on to love and good deeds." (right, Mr. Timmis with son Mikey, 4, one of his five children).

Ave Maria Hometown Band Begins 3rd Season

 The band (above in an earlier performance) offers three programs -- two for students in 7th grade through universtiy and a new beginner's band for 4th and 5th graders. Weekly rehearsals start Sept. 7 at the Donahue Academy. More details are at the band's website here.

Donahue Academy Wins 1st Home Game

 The Shamrocks sixman football squad now is 2-0 on the season. Above, Gabe Allan, #23, crossing the goal line with the game's first score.[UPDATE Sept 7: Michael John Dauphinais, who suffered heat exhaustion after the game, has been discharged in good health by North Collier Hospital where he had been under observation since shortly after the game.]
