The Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board recessed its meeting Tuesday to resume May 16 when it will consider a specific proposal for refinancing $26 million in bonds that come due in November. The board also heard details of mosquito control plans for Ave Maria this summer.

National homebuilder Lennar is poised to enter the Ave Maria market, building homes in the Emerson Park neighborhood later this year, according to the company's division president for southwest Florida, Darin McMurray. Pulte Homes has been the exclusive builder of single-family homes in Ave Maria since the town's inception.

 Working with quill pens and other medieval materials, a team of artists and calligraphers working for 12 years has created a new illuminated bible, the first commissioned by a Benedictine abbey in 500 years. Selected prints are on display at the Ave Maria University Canizaro Library until May 7.
