An Annunciation Sunrise

The Ave Maria Oratory is oriented so that it directly faces the azimuth of the sunrise on March 25, the normal date for celebration of the Feast of the Annunciation. The above picture was taken shortly after sunrise on March 25, 2012, although the feast day is observed this year on Monday, March 26.

Library Exhibit Showcases Prints from New Illuminated Bible

Working with quill pens and other medieval materials, a team of artists and calligraphers working for 12 years has created a new illuminated bible, the first commissioned by a Benedictine abbey in 500 years. Selected prints are on display at the Ave Maria University Canizaro Library until May 7.
