The new film There Be Dragons, which opened nationwide last Friday has generated a great deal of buzz in the Catholic community. Based on the early life of St. Josemaría Escrivá, the film documents the saint’s formative years during the Spanish Civil War. It’s been hailed as a rare mainstream movie with a positive portrayal of the Catholic Church, the priesthood, and a saint.  The Bean of Ave Maria will host a “mini-movie” of There Be Dragons on Friday, May 13 at 8 pm. This 30-minute condensed version of the movie, which runs 120 minutes in its theatrical release, provides a flavor for the film’s theme and characters.\n
