Fr. Robert McTeigue, SJ, will profess his final vows before his Jesuit superior in a ceremony and Mass at the Ave Maria Oratory at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, the vigil of the Solemnity of Christ the King.A reception will follow at The Bean and Queen Mary Pub, with coffee and cake, plus live music by AMU students. There will be a Mass of Thanksgiving at the 10 a.m. Mass Sunday, Nov. 21.All are invited to attend. .Once ordained a priest in the Jesuit order, formation continues and it can take 20 years or more before a Jesuit priest is "invited" to profess final vows, wherein the Jesuit pronounces perpetual solemn vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, andin a ceremony unique to Jesuits, the priest swears special obedience to the pope in matters regarding mission, promising to undertake any mission laid out in the Formula of the Institute the pope may choose.\n
