Burglary of Publix ATM Attempted Overnight

The Collier County Sheriff's Department is investigating an attempted burglary of the ATM at the Publix supermarket in Ave Maria. No cash was taken, although a window at the Publix was broken.

Arrangements for Wake and Funeral for Alex Klucik

The burial service for Alex Klucik will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the memorial garden at St. Agnes Church on Vanderbilt Beach Rd. The memorial garden is outside the church, between the church and the chapel.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alex Klucik Grace Fund, c/o Ave Maria Foundation, 5050 Ave Maria Blvd., Ave Maria, FL 34142-9505. Click here for more information on the fund and other memorials to Alex Klucik.

Alex Klucik Memorial Fund Established

The Klucik family has established the Alex Klucik Grace Fund to support various Ave Maria educational endeavors. A "spiritual bouquet" also is being organized by town residents.

Alex Klucik, 19, Dies in Ave Maria Car Accident

Matthew "Alex" Klucik, the oldest of seven children, was killed early Monday when his car left the road north of Emerson Park shortly after midnight and overturned in a canal. Mr. Klucik, 19, graduated from the Donahue Academy in May and was enrolled as a freshman at Ave Maria University this fall.  (Above, Alex Klucik with Sr. Teresa Benedicta on Donahue Academy graduation day.)
