Burglary of Publix ATM Attempted Overnight

The Collier County Sheriff's Department is investigating an attempted burglary of the ATM at the Publix supermarket in Ave Maria. No cash was taken, although a window at the Publix was broken.
The Sheriff's Department says the incident occurred at 12:46 a.m. Police responded to the alarm but the would-be burglars had left the scene.
Sheriff's Department spokesperson Michelle Batten said that because the investigation is active, she could not comment on whether the ATM's camera captured any images of the attempted burglary.
