Ave Maria University, Law School at Opposite Ends of Financial Strength Rankings

Ave Maria University received the highest possible score for the fiscal year that ended in June, 2009, in the U.S. Department of Education's assessment of the financial stability of higher educational institutions while the Ave Maria School of Law has among the lowest scores.

State Funding for Jackson Lab Still Unclear After Stimulus Bill Passes Congress

Florida State legislators are analyzing the stimulus bill passed Tuesday by the U.S. Congress to determine its effect on numerous state budget items, including the $50 million earmarked for the Jackson Lab genetics research facility near Ave Maria.

Bishop Dewane to Celebrate Mass Opening AMU Academic Year

Bishop Frank Dewane will be the principal celebrant at the Mass opening the Ave Maria University fall term at noon Monday, Aug. 30. It's the second consecutive year that Bishop Dewane has presided at the Mass opening the AMU academic year. All are welcome at the Mass.
Supervisors Approve Budget, New Crosswalk at AMSCD Meeting

 The Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board of supervisors approved the budget for the next fiscal year at a meeting Tuesday which moved along quickly and smoothly under new rules and procedures. The supervisors thanked retiring supervisor Herbert Cambridge for his six years of service on the board. (Above, Mr. Cambridge, left, with board chairman Tom Peek, standing)

Alex Klucik Burial Service Will Be Aug. 10

Pastor Fr. Robert Tatman has announced that the burial service for Alex Klucik will be at St. Agnes Church on Vanderbilt Beach Rd. at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10. The service will be in the Memorial Garden, which is outside the church between the church and the chapel, and all are welcome.
