Some took to the streets in Washington, D.C. Others reflected in prayer in the Ave Maria Oratory. Ave Maria students and residents found many ways Monday to mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in the United States 39 years ago.
A large contingent that included students from the law school, the university and the Donahue Academy, as well as town residents, joined tens of thousands of others at the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.
Back home in Ave Maria, almost 200 people attended a holy hour in the oratory. The hour included prayers and the presentation of 39 roses, each brought to the altar by a person born in every year since the Supreme Court decision.
