Ave Maria Development Will Operate Town Gas Station

The town of Ave Maria will finally be getting a gas station.
Ave Maria Development, the partnership that built the town of Ave Maria, announced Friday that it has purchased the vacant gas station in the Park of Commerce just south of the town center and will start construction to complete it soon.
Completion of the gas station, which has space for a convenience store and other availble storefronts, has been stalled for several years. The original owner of the property went bankrupt after much of the construction was done. The bank that foreclosed on the property subsequently failed and the assets were sold to another financial institution. When all the details were cleared up, the property was sold to the highest bidder.
"Ave Maria Development is excited about the convenience and opportunity that opening the new gas station will give the residents of the town," said Blake Gable, co-president of Barron Collier Companies, which is a co-partner with Tom Monaghan in Ave Maria Development.
A news release from Ave Maria Development said that they hoped the gas station would be open by the end of the second quarter of this year.
