The state senators and representatives from Collier County will meet in Immokalee and Naples Nov. 23 to hold a hearing on bills submitted by members of the public.
All proposals for local bills need to be drafted in bill form and multiple copies need to be submitted in advance. Click here for details about submission requirements. The local legislators then vote to determine whether or not to file the bills for consideration by the state legislature.
In previous years, bills proposing a consolidation of local fire/rescue districts and creation of a children's services trust have been filed by Rep. Matt Hudson after being proposed in this process.
The meeting Nov. 23 begins at 9 a.m. in the IFAS Auditorium in Immokalee, 2686 State Rd. 29 N. That portion of the meeting will adjourn at 11 a.m. and reconvene at 2 p.m. in the Collier County Commission chambers in the Collier County government building in Naples.
After completion of the local bills agenda, members of the public will also have an opportunity to address the legislators on matters not related to specific local bills.
