Lightning Strikes Ave Maria Home; No Injuries

A house on Taylor Drive in the Hampton Village neighborhood of Ave Maria were slightly damaged Saturday afternoon when it was struck by lightning. No one was injured.
Nancy Dauphinais said she, her husband, Michael, and their children were out when the lightning struck around 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Dauphinais said Mary Claire Dant's home might also have been affected, but no one in that house was injured either.
The Dauphinais family was without power for a few hours but electricity was restored by Saturday night. Mrs. Dauphinais supplied the pictures showing damage to the roof of her home (right) and a panel of light switches (below).
